WHAT IS SCABIES? |
Scabies are caused by the mite, Sarcoptes scabiei. Scabies mites are attracted to humans by smell and their warmth. Female scabies mites burrow into the skin, creating threadlike tunnels that are frequently visible on the skin. Whether an infection is scabies or not is best determined by a physician. We cannot comment on the efficacy of treatment for scabies since we know of no one who has suffered from the condition. I feel that in the first instance, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist for the initial scabies treatment which kills the mite, though the dead scabies is still in the skin.
