There are several causes of halitosis, although the main one is oral bacteria. Over 90 million people suffer from chronic halitosis which is the medical term for bad breath. In most cases halitosis originates from the gums and tongue, caused by bacteria from the decay of food particles, other debris in your mouth, and poor oral hygiene. The decay produces a sulphur compound which causes bad breath.
These are anaerobic bacteria, that thrive in an oxygen-free environment such as is found deep in the fissures of the tongue and cheeks, and although proper oral hygiene can help prevent halitosis, or bad breath, it is not always enough. There are a variety of products available which are designed to remove the causes of halitosis, though you should check up on all the options before deciding to purchase.
The best halitosis cures tackle the anerobic conditions by generating oxygen which destroys the bacteria, hence resolving the problem at source, rather than just acting as a deodorant which many so-called 'cures' do. It is important to use scrapers on the tongue and inside the checks to help the treatment get right into the cracks and fissures.
A cure for bad breath may be personal and sometimes you may have to test more than one before you find the correct one for you: he bad breath cure that which will stop your problem once and for all. However, if you are really serious about curing your halitosis you have a number of options. The first is Therabreath.
They offer a great booklet on the causes of halitosis and how to cure bad breath. Get yours HERE.
Therabreath is far ahead of the rest of the field in dealing with this problem, and quite rightly so. However, there is another I have found that you can check out HERE
I don't just advertise Therabreath halitosis products, I personally use them every day. I think the toothpaste tastes great and really leaves my tongue feeling clean; the mouthwash seems much fresher than any other I have tried and I also like the strips which are great for keeping your mouth feeling clean and breath smelling great during the day. I also use the chewing gum - it's not the best tasting, but it sure makes your mouth feel clean and seems to deal with the causes of halitosis for me.
I cannot vouch for any of the other claimed cures for the causes of halitosis you might find, but I can assure of one fact - Therabreath products definitely do work. I was sceptical at first, like you possibly are, but I wouldn't do without them now.
